Somehow it’s already June(!), and as we enter into the summer months I am drawing most of my inspiration from the slow carefree nature of the season. Here is just some of what I am loving lately –
We sort of knew what to expect before we reached Iceland, but were still blown away by the beauty and intensity of this country, its climate, and its nature. For almost two weeks, Will and I traveled the country in a rented camper van, which we will always suggest to anyone who is thinking about taking a trip to Iceland.
With April approaching, I thought it’d be nice to hop on here and share a few things that are bringing me inspiration as we enter a new month.
“If you have not touched the rocky wall of a canyon. If you have not heard a rushing river pound over cobblestones. If you have not seen a native trout rise in a crystalline pool beneath a shattering riffle, or a golden eagle spread its wings and cover you in shadow. If you have not seen the tree line recede to the top of a bare crested mountain. If you have not looked into a pair of wild eyes and seen your own reflection. Please, for the good of your soul, travel west.”

Almost every Summer Will and I take a family trip with my Mom, Aunt, Uncle, and little cousin to Hilton Head, a little island off the coast of South Carolina. After a challenging start to 2022, my soul was yearning for a break from work and daily life routine to enjoy some slow living.
As summer draws to a close, I reflect on the warmth and joy it brought. With September looming, I find myself eager to unveil a handful of paintings I've crafted during these sunny months.
